"Some of Art's Actual Musings"

from Artful Muse

by Arthur Fisher

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Today should have been the day I finished up the exciting Britain in Decline two-parter on the many, many evils of the EU. Unfortunately I'm feeling rather sick today and, as I'm sure you understand, verbally assaulting Europe is something that requires great care and consideration if it's to be done right.
Fear not though, Europe will get the tongue-lashing it so greatly disserves the next time I post.

In the mean time, I present to you a short series of random thoughts I've had of late. My blog is called Artful Muse after all.

Some of Arts Actual Musings

 - This past week the people of the Republic of Ireland voted a resounding "no" to the European Constitution-- sorry, I mean the ‘Lisbon Treaty.' We Brits were promised a vote on the EU Constitution, but it got renamed and repackaged and thus we got no vote. I find it amusing then that the people of Ireland (the only country in the whole of the EU where the citizens got a free vote on it) are the ones who have just helped to preserve Britain's freedom and independence.
I love historical irony.

 - Grand Theft Auto IV has now been out for exactly 54 days, during which time approximately 90% of the human population came down with a terrible flu so they could play it for a month solid.
The streets have yet to flow with the blood of the innocent.
Of course, I haven't played it yet...

 - Over the past couple of months, my family (minus my dad) and I have been watching the first series of a TV show we bought on DVD called Carnivále. It's basically about a travelling carnival troop who picks up this runaway criminal and then bizarre thing happens after bizarre thing. It's strange watching a show that's very slow paced, doesn't explain anything until you've almost forgotten what it is that's unexplained, and can be so obscene you're embarrassed to watch it with your mother in the room. But you can't help but watch and watch and watch. It's one of those shows that you really can't really recommend but you have to see because I guarantee you will never see anything else quite like it.

 - Is hoping the bad guy wins in an 80's action movie always wrong, or only when the good guy isn't sporting a horrible mullet?
I'm always so conflicted when watching Lethal Weapon.

 - According to a recent fortune cookie I got, I am to become a great philanthropist in my later years. Probably to make up for all the horrible atrocities I'll have committed after playing GTA IV.
